Visa & entry

How long you can stay and how to extend

The short version

  • Most nationalities get a tourist visa on arrival (15 or 30 days, extendable).
  • You can stay up to 150 days per calendar year on a tourist visa.
  • Extensions are straightforward — done at the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu or Pokhara.
  • No official digital nomad visa exists yet (as of 2026), but working remotely for foreign employers is widely practiced.
  • A tourist visa costs $25 (15 days) or $40 (30 days) at the airport.
